The World Series of Poker returns to Las Vegas' Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino for the 49th edition of poker's most famous tournament series. Between May 30 and July 17, a record 78 WSOP gold bracelets will be on the line with buy-ins ranging from $365 all the way up to $1 million in a wide variety of games and disciplines.

For the 2018 schedule, the WSOP has decided to add nine new events. Five of these new nine are replacing former events common to the WSOP schedule. An example of this is the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold’em event. This tournament will take the place of the $10k Tag Team event. The 2018 World Series of Poker calendar will feature 78 bracelet events, including the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop, which is back on the WSOP schedule after a four-year hiatus. The series runs. Poker's premier event, the main event, takes place from July 2-14. The $10,000 no-limit hold'em tournament will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and the PokerGo subscription streaming service. The defending champion, Scott Blumstein, outlasted a field of 7,221 players to win $8.15 million in 2017.

2018 Wsop Tournament Schedule 2020

The $1 million Big One for One Drop returns to the WSOP in Las Vegas for the first time in four years, as the closing event of the series. Past champions include Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Colman and Elton Tsang. The fourth edition of this tournament will be capped at 48 players, and will also air live on ESPN and Poker Go through its conclusion on July 17.

The official schedule for the 2018 World Series of Poker has been announced. A total of 78 WSOP gold bracelet events will be held between May 29 and July 17 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are many returning favorites on the schedule, as well as nine brand new events that have been added. One of the major changes of note this year is that 12 events are now slated to begin after the start of the WSOP $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event, which runs from Jul. 2-14.

“With today’s announcement, we hope there is enough time to adjust your holiday wish list,” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel. “We feel very good about the multitude of offerings on the 2018 World Series of Poker schedule and look forward to welcoming everyone to the Rio in Las Vegas this summer.”

Among the events that now begin after the main event is underway are: the $1 million buy-in Big One For One Drop no-limit hold’em event, the $10,000 six-Handed no-limit hold’em championship event, the $50,000 high roller no-limit hold’em event and “The Closer” a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em tournament with 15,000 starting chips and 30-minute levels

The nine new events that will debut in 2018 are as follows:

5. $565 WSOP.com ONLINE Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed (new addition)
6. $1,500 BOUNTY Pot-Limit Omaha (replaces a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em)
7. $1,000 DOUBLE-STACK No-Limit Hold’em (30-minute levels) (replaces a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em)
8. $1,500 THECLOSER No-Limit Hold’em (15,000 starting chips, 30-minute levels) (new addition)
9. $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em (new addition)

Event start times will remain consistent with the past few years, with most weekday tournaments will getting underway at 11:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m., with weekend events most often starting at 10:00 a.m. and afternoon flights of same events kicking off at 5:00 p.m. The structure sheets for all of the events are expected to be posted on WSOP.com beginning in January, with online and in-person registration is expected to open in March.
